Hey there, Yogis!
A question for you: what is the most precious resource you have?
Time, money, relationships, your career, a hobby, something you own — a car, a home, or something else?
While all of these things hold importance, consider this:
Now is the most precious thing — it is the only thing there is.
Eckhart Tolle, in The Power of Now, says:
“The present moment holds the key to liberation. But you cannot find the present moment as long as you are your mind.”
Nothing is more important than Now.
Think about it — when do things actually happen in life?
Not in the past, nor in the future, but Now.
The past is nothing more than a series of previous Now moments, and the future is simply Now moments that have not yet occurred.
Now is when life happens, yet we often disturb it by constantly revisiting the past or projecting ourselves into the future.
Now is where life unfolds — not in the past, nor in the future.
In many ways, the past and the future can become obstacles to presence.
THE PAST
Our identity is often wrapped up in the past.
The past gives us a sense of identity through our previous experiences, shaping the way we see ourselves and the world.
THE FUTURE
We often look to the future as our savior, hoping something will happen that will finally bring fulfillment or peace.
Remember this:
You are not your mind.
You are not your thoughts — you are aware of your thoughts.
You are not your emotions — you feel emotions.
You are not your body — you observe it, you experience the world through it.
You are the conscious presence that is aware of all these inner and outer experiences.
I. A quote by Eckhart Tolle
“In today’s rush we all think too much, seek too much, want too much, and forget about the joy of just BEING.”
II. An Asana to Stay Present
Extended Hand-to-Big-Toe Pose — Utthita Hasta Padangusthasana
Utthita Hasta Padangusthasana is a balancing posture in which you raise one leg to hip level and hold the big toe with your hand.
It is a pose that cultivates both strength and flexibility, particularly in the back of the legs and ankles.
This posture encourages deep focus and presence. It improves balance, posture, and body awareness, while also helping to boost energy levels and reduce fatigue.
It can help build confidence and empowerment, while counteracting the effects of prolonged sitting and extended hours working at a computer.
Benefits include:
Stretching the hamstrings, calves, and inner thighs of the lifted leg.
Strengthening the standing leg, including the thigh, glute, and ankle stabilizers.
Improving concentration and mental clarity.
Enhancing overall balance and coordination.
III. The Power of Now | Book
To begin the journey into the Now, we must gradually step away from the analytical mind and its constructed identity — the ego.
From the very first page, this book invites us into a deeper level of awareness, where we reconnect with the essential nature of our being.
Although the journey can feel challenging, Eckhart Tolle uses simple language and a clear question-and-answer format that gently guides readers toward greater presence.
Since its publication, The Power of Now has become a global word-of-mouth phenomenon and has helped millions of readers discover inner peace, greater joy, and more harmonious relationships.
That would be all for today.
Thank you for reading, and please feel free to share your thoughts about the present moment with us. We would love to hear from you.
