Hey there Yogis!

Have you ever wondered what the world would be like without dogs?

We, the Treelance Family, absolutely love them.

Karina, founder of this small business, recently adopted a calm, shy, and adorable Shih Tzu named Betty.

Yanina, our Communication Specialist, also adopted a dog: Torito, the most playful and friendly companion, who quickly made the whole neighborhood fall in love with him.

Dogs teach us countless lessons about how to live well.

They never miss an opportunity to play and enjoy life.

No matter the circumstances, most dogs find a way to adapt, to trust, and to keep moving forward.

They do not care about appearances, status, or material things.

They greet us with genuine joy every single time we walk through the door.

Dogs remind us how to accept love openly and how to offer it without conditions.

They live in the present moment.

They respond to life as it comes.

They are not lost in worries about the future or regrets about the past.

A dog might just be the ultimate mindfulness teacher.

For all these reasons, today’s edition is dedicated to our beloved dogs.

I. Dog Songs by Mary Oliver

"Because of the dog’s joyfulness, our own is increased.

It is no small gift.

It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born.

What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass?

What would this world be like without dogs?"

II. Downward-Facing Dog Pose

Adho Mukha Svanasana

One of the most recognized yoga postures, Downward-Facing Dog offers both strength and length throughout the entire body.

Adho Mukha Svanasana strengthens the core and supports healthy circulation while providing a deep and satisfying full-body stretch.

For some practitioners, this pose emphasizes opening tight muscles.

For others, it is an opportunity to develop stability and muscular engagement.

Downward Dog helps evenly lengthen the spine using the strength of both arms and legs.

It stretches the hips, hamstrings, and calves, while strengthening the quadriceps and ankles.

It opens the chest and shoulders, tones the arms and abdominal muscles, and even activates the hands and feet in preparation for standing poses and arm balances.

III. Heart of a Dog | Documentary

Created by performance artist Laurie Anderson, Heart of a Dog is a poetic reflection on love, loss, and the emotional bonds we share with animals.

Following the passing of her beloved dog Lolabelle, Anderson explores the meaning of grief, memory, and transformation.

The documentary moves between personal diary, visual essay, and contemplative meditation.

Through reflections on the loss of loved ones, including her partner Lou Reed, the film explores how pain can coexist with beauty, and how endings can give space to new beginnings.

Heart of a Dog is ultimately a gentle exploration of love, presence, and the enduring connection between humans and animals.
