Hey there Yogis!

As part of our ongoing celebration of Mother's Day, we invite you to reflect on the many different forms that mothering and motherhood can take.

Motherhood is not limited to a single definition.

Mothering can mean many things: caring for other women’s children, mentoring young people in your community, baking cookies for little ones, offering a compassionate and nonjudgmental ear to nieces and nephews, dedicating your life to teaching, or choosing to be a loving pet mom to a fur baby.

Motherhood is expansive.

It is diverse.

It is abundant.

Today, more than ever, we invite you to recognize and honor the richness and variety of ways nurturing energy expresses itself in the world.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you.

to understand
how someone can
pour their entire soul
blood and energy
into someone
without wanting
anything in return"

II. Happy Baby Pose

Ananda Balasana

Happy Baby Pose is a movement we often see babies naturally explore when they discover their feet.

Practicing this pose can help relieve stress while inviting a sense of playfulness and lightness.

Ananda Balasana gently awakens the inner child and can act as a natural mood booster.

It helps release nervous tension and encourages the mind to soften into a more carefree state.

Physically, the posture provides a deep stretch for the inner thighs, groin, hips, and hamstrings, while also engaging the shoulders and chest.

It can help release tension in the back muscles, especially after practicing backbends or twists.

When practicing Happy Baby Pose, the sacrum broadens and the spine lengthens, creating space in the lower back.

The posture also supports calming the nervous system and may help reduce fatigue and mental stress.

How to practice Ananda Balasana.

III. Still Born | Book

Still Born is a deeply reflective novel about motherhood, friendship, and the complexity of personal choice, written by Guadalupe Nettel, one of the most prominent voices in contemporary Latin American literature.

The story follows two friends, Alina and Laura, both independent and career-focused women in their mid-thirties who had never imagined building their futures around motherhood.

Laura decides to undergo sterilization, firmly believing she does not want children.

Meanwhile, Alina gradually begins to feel drawn toward the possibility of becoming a mother.

When Alina’s daughter survives childbirth despite a difficult diagnosis, and Laura develops an unexpected emotional bond with a neighbor’s child, both women are confronted with complex and deeply human emotions.

With sensitivity and honesty, Nettel explores maternal ambivalence and the contradictions that often exist within the lived experiences of women.

We will get back to you shortly, Yogis.
