Hey there Yogis!

As you may have seen on our social media, last week Treelance Yoga was invited to participate in an event to raise funds supporting the first Yoga Teacher Training program for people deprived of their freedom. This training will take place in the San Martín prison, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The invitation came from Moksha, a non-profit organization that seeks to transform time in confinement into an opportunity for awareness, healing, and the creation of a new way of being in the world.

Treelance Yoga is run by two sisters who were born and raised in Patagonia, Argentina, so it is truly meaningful to contribute to a cause that positively impacts society and supports personal transformation.

Breathwork, or pranayama, together with yoga and meditation, can help clear negative imprints and allow us to release the weight of the past. Through these practices, we can become more present, more aware, and more empowered to consciously create our lives.

Higher yoga practices were originally designed to help clear past traumas and negative conditioning, allowing us to live from a place of freedom instead of reacting from unconscious patterns.

Instead of acting from conditioned behaviors, we begin to act from awareness and intention.

Through yoga practice, habitual patterns of thought and reaction begin to dissolve.

The cycle breaks.

And then, we are free.

I. A quote from The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle

"The beginning of freedom is the realization that you are not 'the thinker'.
The moment you start watching the thinker, a higher level of consciousness becomes activated.

You then begin to realize that there is a vast realm of intelligence beyond thought, that thought is only a tiny aspect of that intelligence.

You also realize that all the things that truly matter — beauty, love, creativity, joy, inner peace — arise beyond the mind.

You begin to awaken."

II. 30 Power Breaths

The Wim Hof Method

Wim Hof is a Dutch motivational speaker and extreme athlete known for demonstrating the extraordinary potential of the human mind and body.

He developed the Wim Hof Method, a simple breathing technique designed to help increase oxygen levels in the body, balance pH levels, and support physical and emotional healing.

The rhythmic breathing technique increases oxygen intake while releasing carbon dioxide more efficiently than normal breathing patterns.

This process can temporarily shift the body's internal chemistry, creating a sense of increased energy, clarity, and emotional release.

Through this practice, many people report feeling more connected to their bodies, more present, and more capable of accessing deeper states of awareness.

III. When They See Us | Series

When They See Us, directed and produced by Ava DuVernay for Netflix, tells the story of five teenagers from Harlem who were wrongfully convicted of the assault of Trisha Meili, known as the "Central Park jogger", in 1989.

The teenagers — Kevin Richardson, Raymond Santana, Antron McCray, Yusef Salaam, and Korey Wise — were pressured into false confessions and became victims of systemic injustice and racial bias.

The series powerfully portrays the social, legal, and emotional consequences of wrongful convictions, as well as the broader realities of systemic inequality.

It highlights how structural discrimination, lack of resources, and media narratives shaped public perception and deeply impacted the lives of these young men and their families.

When They See Us is an intense and deeply human story that invites reflection on justice, compassion, and societal responsibility.

IV. And last but not least…

Have you heard about the Innocence Project?

The Innocence Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to freeing innocent people from prison, preventing wrongful convictions, and reforming the criminal legal system.

Through DNA testing and legal advocacy, the organization has helped free more than 240 innocent people.

If you would like to learn more or support their work, you can visit their website.

You may also be interested in watching Oprah Winfrey Presents: When They See Us Now, where Oprah Winfrey interviews the men formerly known as the Central Park Five, along with the cast and creators of the series.

We would love to hear your thoughts and reflections.
